Our Basic Beliefs...

About the Bible
The Bible is God’s written word given to man to
reveal Himself to man. It was written by human
authors who were inspired by God’s Holy Spirit.
It is perfect, without any mixture of error, and
truthful in all it says.
Exodus 24:4; II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:25;
II Peter 1:20,21; Psalm 119:11,89,105,140,160

About God
There is only one true living God. God reveals
himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Genesis 1:1; 2:7; Psalm 19:1-3; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14

About Man
God created man in His spiritual image but man sinned against God, thus marring the glorious image God created him to be. Although man has a wonderful potential for good and for life in the image of God, his sin has separated him from God.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 6:5; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1,2

About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, co-equal with Him. He was born of the virgin Mary, God incarnated in the flesh of man. He lived his life on earth teaching the truth of God. He was crucified on the cross as a substitute for the sin of all mankind in order to reconcile man to God. He was buried and resurrected from the dead to prove his power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return to the earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:21-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-31; Hebrews 4:14,15; I Corinthians 15:3,4;
Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14,15;

About Salvation
Because the penalty of sin is death, man needs a savior from this powerful enemy. Jesus’ death and resurrection is man’s only hope of salvation. Salvation is a free gift offered to everyone who believes in Jesus and accepts Him as Lord of his or her life.
Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

About Eternal Security
God offers man the free gift of Eternal Life. Its very name says it will last forever. Believers can rest with assurance that, by God’s Grace, their salvation is forever secure. Salvation rests upon God’s Grace and not man’s goodness.
John 10:29; II Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10,14; I Peter 1:3-5

About the Holy Spirit
God’s Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts mankind of sin and convinces them of God’s love. At the moment of salvation, He enters man to be his counselor, comforter, constant daily guide and power for living. He is an ever-present help in knowing and following spiritual truth.
II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

About Eternity
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through the forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; I John 5:5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46
